“Find
your why, it is your purpose, it is that which defines your existence” Christine
Matenga
Hello, how are you today? Hope
I find you well. I just thought I should share a little bit of my mind on the
issue that I have always seen and heard over the years, pertaining to the New
Year resolutions notion. Often we rush into a frenzy of goal setting and
resolutions and a whole lot of stuff that at times we only chase perfection at
the expense of the meaning of life itself. We forget who we are, where we come
from and where we are going, we lose focus whilst under the impression that we
are progressing. So I thought let me be your reminder which I really enjoy
because I also will be reminding myself, let’s dive deep into the world of
thoughts, enjoy…
We are at a point in our lives
where everything is fast, the world is moving at a lightning speed, too busy
and noisy we tend to lose ourselves in the process, the pressures are too much
and we constantly seek to renew our goals, our vision and everything else
seeking for perfection and forgetting our happiness and the reason why we exist
as human beings. We also tend to lose ourselves being drawn deep into the pit
of social media where we make influential people’s lives a benchmark of life in
general, we tend to just follow and divert from our own purpose in life and
just live. It is difficult to live in such a world that is constantly chasing
us to be so not ourselves. A majority of people even ask “what to do with my
life?, who really am I and what is my passion?”
Wait a minute, breath: in and out, in and out,
and listen…
Do you remember your purpose?
Do you know your purpose? We are all here for a reason and exist to fulfil a
purpose in life. Often times, especially now as the year is beginning, we go
with this “new year new me” vibe forgetting that the same person who endured in
the last year is exactly the one that is needed to conquer the new year, so
remember that this is a new year but old you, you need you to utilise the
lessons you learnt in the last year to emerge stronger, wiser and better and drive
the new year by the horn not forgetting your purpose. It cannot be rushed it is
a process.
As you are going through life
always remember that it is important to reminisce on what your purpose is. If
you do not know your purpose it is important to take time with yourself and get
to know yourself better. Do not be scared to try new things, explore and find
your rightful place in life.
So what am I saying? I am
saying there is a significant relationship between goals and purpose. As you
make and design your goals, align it with your purpose so that the world is
made a better place to stay for you and the people around you. The goals that
align with a sense of purpose can make a huge difference in your life and those
around you. It is also important to
understand that your purpose stems from the gifts and talents you own as an
individual, which is only part of the bigger picture, it is actually a
combination of things and attributes making you a whole person. Do not lay idle
and wait for your purpose to find you, you explore, you find it, you use your
gifts, know what makes you excited, you live life and live it to the fullest.
Ways to find your purpose: I cannot
stress this enough > Read, this opens a whole new world for you, cultivate a
culture of gratitude and appreciate life as it comes, conduct a passion test
explore and experience new things altogether, cultivate a culture of creating
life where death seems the only option to other people, share the story of your
life, how you were on the ground, you rose, you fought and you conquered it can
change lives and be the rightful reason why you exist as a person.
It
is important to know your “why”, to know your purpose in life. When you know
your purpose in life, you begin to live a more meaningful life that what you do
and how you do it in other areas of life begin to make sense and the ultimate
goal is happiness. Thus stop searching for perfection by just making your goals
and strategies to the next big thing, those are your “what” and “how”, know your
why first. Goal making is an important part of your life and is highly
recommended if achieving your dreams is the ultimate goal, however how useful
is to be wealthy but not understanding the meaning of your life. Please take
time to ponder about it and as you build your life beginning of this year, find
meaning of life through knowing your purpose and using it for the greater good.
Take care of yourself and always appreciate the BEAUTIFUL person you are.
